“I say this every year, but I really feel like 2019 will be a great year for all.”

Dear diary,

I just got back to Austin! The Greyhound driver must’ve taken the scenic route or something because everything was so beautiful! Lots of great occurrences happened on the trip. A man saw me reading my Ask and it is Given book by Esther and Jerry Hicks, and asked me what it was about. From there, I proceeded to tell him and his wife all about the law of attraction and the power of intention and though. I’ve been educating myself more on these subjects to present them to a bigger audience, so talks like these really help me be a better teacher.

Some good things that happened today: the Democrats took back control of the House, and Nancy Pelosi is now the House Speaker. I’ve shared several Voto Latino tweets on what this potentially means for DACA recipients, but needless to say, the future looks promising! I’ll definitely share more DACA and US immigration updates as the events transpire. I say this every year, but I really feel like 2019 will be a great year for all.

Some not so good things that happened: For one, this lady sitting next to me on the bus kept crying the entire bus ride from San Antonio to Austin, which was really funny at first, but I hope everything turned out okay for her. 2015 Divina would’ve been so annoyed, but my mom’s been teaching me to be more compassionate lately. I’m working on it, letting go of grudges and focusing on living my best life. On that note, it’s always really nostalgic and sentimental to leave Laredo. I already miss speaking only Spanish out in public, $1 tacos and my mom’s food. Sad sad sad, someone priority mail me some tamales ❤

Peace and love,

Things I’m grateful for:

1 – Having the means to come back home.

2 – Getting to spend time with my friends and family.

3 – I’m excited and motivated to continue to be the person I want to be this 2019.

4 – I’m proud of myself for continuing to achieve the goals I’ve been set on accomplishing.

5 – Finally, and most importantly, I’m happy to know that I’m loved unconditionally and deeply by those around me.
